How We Know the Dates for the Old Testament

by Joel P. Kramer (Expedition Bible)

“Join Joel as he travels to Iraq to explain how an ancient cuneiform tablet dug up from the library of the Assyrian king, Ashurbanipal, in Nineveh, unlocked the dating system for the Old Testament.”

NOTE: The 1446 BC date for the Exodus is based upon 480 years from the Masoretic text of 1 Kings 6:1. Another popular date is 1406 BC, which is based upon 440 years from the Septuagint text of 1 Kings 6:1. A third date of 1536 BC is based upon Acts 13:17-21. There are other less acknowledged dates but this video shows the calculation for the most accepted one. — SR
